COVID-19 Community Notice
To Our Valued Maker Community:
Due to the rapidly unfolding developments regarding COVID-19, MakerspaceCT will be closing at least through March 31st, 2020.
MakerspaceCT has the utmost concern for everyone’s safety, as things change on a daily basis we will adjust our plans according to CDC and Connecticut State mandates.
To be clear: There are no known cases of COVID-19 exposure at MakerspaceCT.
We are complying with current state and federal recommendations while protecting the safety of our members, students, and staff.
We plan to return to regular business hours and operations on April 1st. Please monitor communications for any changes.
If you have personal tools, materials or projects in one of the shops and would like to come pick them up, please email Joe at jtransue@makerspacect.com. However, if you would like to leave your things, they will be safely stored in the makerspace.
All planned on-site events are being canceled or postponed. If you are currently registered for one of our on-site programs, please watch your inbox for updates.
And now, on to the good news…
We are working to provide some exciting new online programming and will post updates as those events are scheduled.
Online programming begins tonight! Our weekly Digital Fab Meetup will begin at 6:30pm tonight at https://meet.google.com/vay-zpod-cxg. Please join us! You’ll need Google Chrome, a google account, a mic, and a webcam for the full effect. You are welcome to show and tell about a project you are working on! BYO Pizza, for obvious reasons.
To our members:
Currently, all memberships remain active. We are grateful for your support during these uncharted times. We promise to work hard to keep our members and their families healthy. During this time we still have ongoing operating costs associated with the business. Your continued support helps keep MakerspaceCT in business! That said, if you would prefer to suspend your membership during the closure, please email scott@makerspacect.com and we will pause your membership. Your membership will reactivate when we reopen. If at that time you still have concerns accessing the space, please let us know and we will be able to address individual circumstances as-needed.
New members can sign up but will not be charged or complete the orientation process until regular operations resume.
MakerspaceCT staff will be working remotely during this time, and will continue to be available to answer any of your questions or concerns. You can leave a message any time at our main number 860-619-6253 or email info@makerspacect.com.
Finally…are you working on a cool project from home? Or would you like to share one of the projects that you made at MakerspaceCT? Please share pictures of your build on social media and be sure to tag us @makerspaceCT or use the hashtag #madeatmakerspacect so that we can share!
Be well, be safe! We can’t wait to see all of the amazing projects you make when we return.
Sincerely,
The MakerspaceCT Team
