Stephan Donahue – Program Director, CESI

Stephan Donahue is the Program Director for the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI) at Hartford Hospital.

Since Steve established Connecticut’s first simulation center in the early 2000s, the center has grown into the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), the centerpiece of Hartford Hospital’s pioneering vision to revamp its medical educational system.

CESI has become a regional and national training destination for medical training using advanced simulation approaches. CESI features exact replicas of an operating room, intensive care unit, delivery room and trauma room. It has the same equipment as the hospital, including two da Vinci robots and two robotic simulators designed especially for training purposes.

Recently, CESI has doubled in size with the new expansion which opened in July 2017and not only increased the number of simulation rooms available but also added the new wet lab facility.

Mr. Donahue is a registered Respiratory Therapist and previously served as a member of the Life Star helicopter team at Hartford Hospital. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Hartford.
